Women's Hormone

What is Hormone therapy?
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) serves to restore the levels of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone that may decline or fluctuate due to aging, menopause, and various chronic conditions. By supplementing these hormones, HRT effectively alleviates menopausal symptoms and mitigates the risk of long-term health issues associated with hormone deficiencies. The primary objective of HRT is to support the body in maintaining balanced hormone levels, thereby promoting overall wellness. Our treatment employs bio-identical, plant-based hormones that are compounded in a facility approved by the United States FDA, ensuring they are functionally identical to those naturally produced by the body. This therapeutic approach represents a natural method for addressing hormone imbalances.
Rediscover your inner self through hormonal balance.
For decades, women have navigated the challenges associated with menopausal changes, often feeling a disconnection from their previous identities due to what is commonly referred to as "hormonal imbalance." The intricate equilibrium of estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone—hormones that our bodies naturally secrete—plays a crucial role in numerous physiological processes. As the production of these hormones declines, women may begin to experience a range of symptoms; hot flashes, mental fog, vaginal dryness, anxiety, depression, low libido, abdominal weight gain, insomnia, osteopenia, and many more.
Myths surrounding Hormone therapy
The discourse surrounding hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been significantly influenced by misinformation, particularly stemming from a singular published study that suggested a correlation between estrogen replacement and an increased risk of breast cancer. Consequently, following this misinformation, HRT was largely dismissed as a viable option for women experiencing symptoms. However, subsequent analyses of the same study have indicated that the benefits of HRT may outweigh the associated risks for individuals with hormone deficiencies. This body of evidence suggests a reduction in the incidence of breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, and a lower risk of fractures related to osteoporosis (JAMA 2004; 291:1701-12). At Bayside, our healthcare providers frequently advocate for genetic testing to enhance the safety and efficacy of hormone treatment. Identifying polymorphisms such as MTHFR, COMT Val158Met genotypes, and other known genetic cancer risk can be instrumental in achieving optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Treatment
Counseling will be tailored to your results, offering recommendations that are specific to your assessment. A variety of treatment modalities are currently available, including pellet therapy, topical applications, oral medications, supplements, and injections. Restoring normal hormone levels can significantly enhance your health and address progressive health issues related to this condition.
We may recommend DNA testing to further assist your treatment with estrogen due to some DNA genotypes metabolize estrogen differently. Including these findings in your treatment plan can better predict effective results while minimizing undesirable symptoms.

What are Hormone Pellets?
Testosterone and estrogen pellets represent a form of bioidentical compounded hormone therapy. These pellets are smaller in diameter than a baby aspirin and are designed for gradual absorption into the body over several months. Once inserted into the hip, they dissolve over time, providing a consistent release of hormones that mimic the levels typically experienced in one's 20s and 30s.

The advantages of this therapy include enhanced energy levels, reduction of abdominal fat, lower blood glucose levels, and improved sexual health characterized by increased libido and more intense orgasms. Additional benefits encompass cardiovascular health, improved bone density, enhanced cognitive function, and better sleep quality. Many patients who manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, insomnia, and high cholesterol find that they can reduce or eliminate some of their medications as a result of effective hormone restoration.
